Tenney to lead industrial security group; Exton announced as environmental organization leader; more departures and arrivals

ASIS International announced William Tenney will be the $22M-revenue group’s next CEO, effective July 1. He will succeed Peter O’Neil, who has led the organization since 2016.

Tenney takes top role at industrial security group

ASIS International announced William Tenney will be the $22M-revenue group’s next CEO, effective July 1. He will succeed Peter O’Neil, who has led the organization since 2016. 

“(William’s) diverse background spanning national security and global corporate security makes him exceptionally qualified to lead our organization and advance our strategic priorities,” said Cy A. Oatridge, 2024 ASIS International president. 

Tenney was most recently chief security officer and senior vice president of global security at insurance company MetLife, where he spent the past 11 years. Previously, he was head of global operations risk for Bloomberg and director of global security at Target. 

He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Olaf College and a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown University.

Exton named executive director of environmental group

The Water Environment Federation announced Ralph Erik Exton will join the $24M-revenue group as executive director, effective July 15. He will succeed Patrick Nichols, who has been serving on an interim basis since the departure of Walter Marlow in July 2023. 

“Ralph brings years of strategic leadership and business experience to the organization, which we know will be a great step forward in ringing in our 100-year anniversary and beyond.”

Exton has been chief marketing officer of pump manufacturer GRUNDFOS since 2022. Previously, he was chief marketing and digital officer at utility company SUEZ, where he spent five years. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at GE Water & Process Technologies.

Keane named leader of sleep products group

The $10M-revenue International Sleep Products Association announced Alison Keane has been named president of ISPA and the Mattress Recycling Council. She succeeds Ryan Trainer, who announced his intent to retire earlier this year after leading the organization for 14 years. 

“I have worked with Alison for many years. Her development of the PaintCare program greatly influenced our approach in shaping the Mattress Recycling Council. Through her work on behalf of the paint and packaging industries, she is familiar with many of the same regulatory pressures we in the bedding industry face. Her expertise and innovative thinking have already benefited our industry, and I am confident that under her leadership, ISPA and MRC will continue to thrive,” Trainer said in a statement.

Keane has spent the past eight years as president and CEO of the Flexible Packaging Association. Previously, she spent 15 years at the American Coatings Association, most recently as vice president of government affairs. She also spent nearly six years at paint industry nonprofit PaintCare. 

Keane has a bachelor’s degree in marine biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a doctorate degree in environmental science from Golden Gate University.

Parker joins entrepreneurs group

Dave Parker has joined the Entrepreneurs’ Organization ($51M-revenue) as CEO. 

“In Dave, we feel we have found an ideal blend of voice and vision to propel us forward toward 2030. His clear passion for entrepreneurship, coupled with his extensive experience and thought leadership around the founder’s journey, align well with our commitment to a clear strategic direction and operational excellence for the EO member community,” said Lynn Anstett, EO’s global board chair.

Parker started his own holding company DKParker, LLC 21 years ago and has been managing partner since. He was also founder and CEO of event management company Trajectory Media, which he founded in 2021. 

He has a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from the University of Washington.

Boliver to helm health care group 

The $1.8M-revenue Healthcare Supply Chain Association has named Angie Boliver as its next president and CEO. She succeeds Todd Ebert, who retired in 2019 after leading the organization for four years.

Boliver is the founder and principal consultant of AB Communications Strategies. She was previously senior vice president of PR & communications for education technology company Academic Partnerships (now Risepoint) and vice president of strategic communications, public relations and public affairs for health care company Vizient, Inc.

Goliver has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Hardin-Simmons University and a master’s degree in English literature and law degree from Southern Methodist University. 

Buck to lead training services group

The National Training & Simulation Association has named Sean Buck as its new president. He succeeds the late James Robb, who passed away in November 2023. 

“As Vice Admiral Sean Buck assumes the presidency of NTSA, we are confident his leadership will continue to propel our mission forward,” said NTSA Senior Vice President Debbie Langelier. “A leader of the highest moral character, Buck will represent NTSA’s core values exceptionally well.”

Buck was previously superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy for four years.

He has a bachelor’s degree in oceanography and physics from the United States Naval Academy and a master’s degree in security policy studies from The George Washington University.

Alliance for Automotive InnovationLauren Collins has joined AAI as director of safety policy. Collins was most recently a lead transportation systems engineer at nonprofit organization the MITRE Corporation, where she spent two years. Earlier in her career, she was a senior mechanical engineer and program manager for technology company Alpha Technology Associate.

Blue Cross Blue Shield AssociationDavid Merritt has been promoted to senior vice president. Merritt joined $756M-revenue BCBSA in October 2022 as senior vice president of policy and advocacy. Previously, he was executive vice president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, where he spent six years. 

Managed Funds AssociationRob Hailey has joined $24M-revenue MFA as a managing director and will lead the group’s government affairs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Most recently, Hailey led Bank of America’s government affairs in the UK and Ireland.
